Back to School: Reassurance of God's Sovereignty

The school year started for my boys this week, the same time that is busiest for me at work. Toni, one of the twins and the most vocal keeps saying, "I can't believe I'm in Kindergaten, I can't believe I'm in Kindergaten" and his reflections really rings true for me too. Its amazing how time flies, a good reminder of how every season should be treasured. To think that my oldest is in 4th grade is just as humbling. I've truly enjoyed this week albeit busy but it has been fulfilling, overwhelming but calmingly gratifying at the same time. Normally their Dad drops them off in the mornings, but I decided to drop them off today and it is a decision I treasure. Their Dad and I went together their first day on Tuesday, and being there alone this morning, putting their things away - lunchbox, snack, backpack was a closure to the anxiety of the "what ifs" of every new season. Everything was put away in its place, and as the Lord lives and the earth remaineth- He will always put things in place for our lives.

Lesson Learned: The Lord of the seasons and times has our whole life in His hands! why fret?

A simple life

What is a simple life? This question rose in me after reading the incredible story of Tosin Otitoju. She's an all-rounder! and my goodness she possesses such a compelling outlook on life. It makes me look at my own life and ask how purposefully I'm living. There's a simplicity about her outlook and practice of life that makes it so extraordinarily meaningful. Let me just say this, I'm thankful for "everyday" determined folks like her and Ore Somolu who are consistent in simple things. In the end, I agree that simple consistency yields greatness.
