hello blogdom----
I got back from Nigeria, God's blessed country about 3 wks ago. It was truly a blessing seeing everyone I hadn't seen in 5yrs or more. Foremost, I have to thank my amazing heavenly Father for taking care of all the details about our travel and everything that needed to be in place and taken care of for the travel to happen. Thanks to Aunty Bubi, the amazing damsel who has been a shoulder to lean on. My whole family went. My brother in Greenville and his clan went as well.
My son and I got to Nigeria, April 21....MCL had gotten there a fews days before. Praise and I went straight from the airport to the hospital to see his cousin, my immediate senior sister's daughter. We met everyone in good spirits and even IniOluwa who was supposedly sick was looking peachy..she is such a beautiful baby.
The following day we went to Ilesa with Bermuda (MCL's homeboy) for Yomi's (my brother-in-law)engagement party. They were finishing just as we got there. There was this episode of my mother-in-law not recognising me, it didn't sit well...i mean can you imagine? but then, she hadn't seen me in 5yrs and boy do I look different...i've gained about 50lbs since the last time she saw me (yes! i see your reaction.....i'm working on loosing the weight!!) The person that put it best was MCL's brother-in-law, upon recognizing from afar, he exclaimed, "Seun, is that you? what has America done to you?" in other words, how come you've become so enormous! Anyway, my mother-in-law came back apologizing that she didn't recognize me. Reunions with in-laws are always sweet......
We went to Akure that night, talk about a full house....my baby nested with siz Nike, my sis-in-law and her children. Mcl and I took to the couch and even had time to do a quickie in the parked car outside.....now that's spicy living! The actual wedding was the next day and it was a beautiful event....later in the day we welcomed the bride the traditional way. I prayed for her and her husband and ushered her into the house. Thanksgiving service took place the day after and off the newlyweds, Yomi & Lola, went to the U.K. may there union be blessed
Praise and I left Akure for Ibadan that monday. Iya Ade, my sister's live-in househelp is a God-sent. Here's the word, she nurtured Praise and I. God bless her immensely!
I will be back to give you the rest of the gist on how our trip turned out......
