why i'm interested in counseling

I was answering a question for my counseling class and thought I would share it. I poured out my heart about some childhood recollections thus:

My dad is a very transparent person. He was also a major disciplinarian, but I remember when growing up that he usually would be forgiving if you approach him with your wrongdoing before he founds out for himself.

My mother is one of the most loving, compassionate, and caring creatures God ever made.
Both of my parents were school teachers and I think their love and approach for others (including total strangers) gave me a strong hold how much you can have when you give of yourself to others. They lived their lives as counselors at school, in the community, and at church and I think that made a big impact on my views on counseling.
