Seventy-Five!

Seventy Five is seven decades and a half! My mom turned 75 today and I can't be more thankful to have such a blessed woman of God as my mother, role model, and mentor. Happy Birthday Mama Bello, your life is a blessing to all those around you. I love you

Just a Post a Day

I hate that I'm not writing as much as I should, could.

I found out yesterday that another office is going to be merged with mine. The sad part was that two people from the other department were going to be let go in the process. A part of me rejects the vision because its not as simple as its being made out to look but I KNOW that there is a GOD in Zion who knows and understands all things. I need grace to be wise in all of this. I need grace......

Thank you for my Mommy

Last night we were having our family devotion and all the twins said when it was their turn to pray was, "thank you for my mommy" Amen. It was touching, realizing that your innocent three year olds lift you up as their thanksgiving offering. With all that goes into being a mother to three boys under the age of 7, it was both rejuvenating and humbling. It was only a sentence but it said so much to so many things. It spoke to the essence of motherhood. It spoke to the responsibility of taking care of these precious one. It touched on the privilege and opportunity to be a custodian for the Almighty. It encouraged me to look to my Maker and Husband for strength to carry on day after day. It reduced me and magnified the Most High.

P to the square three, I am thankful for you too and the lessons you teach me each day.

Lesson Learned: My children will rise and called me blessed!

Itching to Travel

The nomad in me is getting more and more restless by the day. I have not traveled internationally in 4 whole years! and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll even be able to travel anytime soon. With a family it is hard, but other life obligations get in the way as well.

so just for the fun of it I plan possible vacation dates and plug them into travel websites. I miss airports, airplanes, packing luggage, custom officers, airline gates, family reunions.....and the opportunity to do nothing but fun for a whole week and more!

oh my passport I miss the touch of thee!

Lesson Learned: There is a season for everything under the sun, a season you can leisurely travel to any continent every four months and a season when you do not leave a continent in 4 years! For this, I am still thankful

This year will be different...I can see it.

2009! Another opportunity to start afresh with new hope and expectations. I'm excited about the prospects this year holds and the privilege to write and express myself...what a gift! I plan to write more this year and I will. The air is charged with new tides and heights to climb and attain, what with the impending inauguration of the first black president of the most powerful nation God created. I'm thankful to be alive to watch this event with my husband and sons, particularly my sons because the event will speak volumes (in Jesus name) of lessons about who God created them to be - about dominion which He gave them himself.

Talking about dominion, I plan to exert more in the area of prayer and studying my Bible. I plan to be more aggressive in making decisions that balance a healthy lifestyle. I was very fortunate to have maintained the weight that I'd lost in 2007-2008, but I will loose more weight this year.

This year will be different and that is very exciting!
